TIP-OFF EVENT

ABOUT COACHES VS. CANCER

The Coaches vs Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. This initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs. Since 1993, coaches have raised nearly $100 million for the American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer Tennessee Tip-off Event will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at the Nashville Music City Center starting at 6:00pm. The Tennessee Tip-off boosts enthusiasm for the upcoming basketball season, shares team predictions, and recognizes and cultivates relationships with the team's supporters. Guests will enjoy drinks, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, a unique experience to meet the coaches, and an evening of basketball banter; all while raising funds to support the American Cancer Society's life-saving mission.

ABOUT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

Our mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer!

Our vision is a world free from the pain and suffering of cancer. Our purpose is to achieve it.

Whether it’s providing emotional support, the latest cancer information, or a home away from home when treatment is far away, we’re there when you need us- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

With an investment of more than $4.5 billion since 1946, and $150 million in 2015, the Society is the largest private, nonprofit source of cancer research funds in the United States.

The success of the American Cancer Society research program is exemplified by the fact that 47 Society-funded researchers have gone on to win a Nobel Prize.

With your support, we will save even more lives than ever before. Together, we are stronger than cancer.
